I’d like to welcome you most warmly to the website of the Kington Group of Parishes. We are a family of five Churches: St Mary the Virgin, Kington, St Thomas a Becket, Huntington, St Stephen, Old Radnor, St Mary the Virgin, Kinnerton and St Peter, Titley.
As you will see from this website, we serve five parishes which straddle the Welsh English Border. Three of our parishes, Kington, Huntington and Titley are in England in the County of Herefordshire, while Old Radnor and Kinnerton are firmly across the border in the old County of Radnorshire, now part of Powys.
All of our churches seek to provide a welcoming space in which they can serve their communities and welcome both parishioners, friends and strangers to have their own personal encounter with God.
Proclaiming and worshipping God lies at the heart of what we do and informs and guides all that we do.
We are, as you will discover justifiably proud of our five beautiful and historic buildings which we endeavour to maintain as well as we can. We believe that our church buildings offer not just what we hope is both beautiful and inspiring worship but also a visible reminder of God’s presence at the heart of our communities, but also a place for prayer and reflection for anybody who crosses their thresholds.
Yet, we believe that what we do as Christians is not just about what happens in church during worship. We seek to be an active Christian presence in our communities both on the streets, in shops, pubs, farms, schools, community events and anywhere that God’s people meet.
We welcome you in God’s name to our website and hope that it will both give you an insight into what we do but also inspire you to come and join us. We can guarantee you the warmest of welcomes.
